Monday, March 31, 2008 Eating just one sausage or three slices of bacon a day, about 1.8 ounces, may increase the risk of bowel cancer by a fifth, a health organization has warned. Scientists say the safest amount of processed meat, which also includes lunch meat, to eat is none at all, it is reported by the U.K.'s Daily Record. Experts at the charity World Cancer Research Fund said more is needed to raise awareness of the dangers, according to the report. Professor Martin Wiseman, medical and scientific adviser for the WCRF, said there was convincing evidence of a link between processed meats and cancer. Processed meat is any meat that is preserved by smoking, curing, salting or additives.Study: One Sausage Per Day Increases Bowel Cancer Risk by a Fifth

Sausage & Bacon
Come on, who in their right mind eats this much sausage & bacon every day anyway? Just FYI to you anyway...in case you know someone who is crazy enough to eat this much processed meat.
I wonder if eating sliced turkey from a quality deli is considered a processed meat cold cut? Anyone know?
XOXO
P.S. To us McLachlans with the hereditary colon cancer issue...I just wanna make sure you know that "bowel" cancer includes colon cancer.
