LONDON (Reuters) - GlaxoSmithKline said on Wednesday new data showed its Cervarix vaccine generated sustained, high levels of neutralizing antibodies against the two most common cervical cancer-causing virus types for 6.4 years. Glaxo said on Wednesday the data, from an extended follow-up study, showed the longest duration of sustained neutralizing antibody levels reported against both virus types HPV 16 and 18 with a cervical cancer vaccine to date. HPV Vaccine Efficacy Length
How long did the shot originally last? Girls get the shot when they are 11-ish yrs old, right? So it lasts 11-17 yrs? My guess is that it probably only works for 4 years. Lots of boosters to get them through their sexually active years, through say age 35...huh? Do they have boosters?
Lots of negative articles about this HPV vaccine...I don't forward them on usually...talking about vaccines is like talking politics and religion...I'm somewhat anti-vaccines because William developed a rare form of epilepsy 11 days after his MMR shot. My professional life was in the pharma industry...I generally don't trust their clinical studies.
XOXO
