Hand Washing Kiddie Craft Idea

I admit that when we are home, I haven't been very good with having the kids wash their hands before meals, but I'm a germ freak when we are out and about. But with the upcoming flu season and the possible (overblown) MRSA scare, I started this kiddie hygiene craft and it is really fun for the kids...just passing it on for fun! If you are interested read on...
I traced the kids hands on poster board and had them color "germs" on them with crayons. They made green and brown spots and yucky shapes. Then I connected them with a piece of string that I stapled on. I wrote their names on each set of hands and hung them on the back of their kitchen chairs. Now for every meal and snack, it's a great visual reminder for me and them...they have to go wash their hands with soap then take their "dirty hands" off their chairs and give them to me before I will put their plate in front of them. It works GREAT, the kids love it...it gets some laughs too...."Oooo mom, here are my icky hands!!"
For William, the only one in school with a lunchbox, I put his "dirty hands" in his lunch box every day with a bottle of sanitizer. He also keeps a separate bottle of sanitizer inside his desk, his idea, I wonder where he gets it from?? ha ha
